Overview
Nature is a redesign of the blockbuster Evolution to be more streamlined, more forgiving, deeper, and seamlessly expandable. The secret sauce is a modular system that allows players to create a unique ecosystem each time they play. Every combination creates a unique environment to discover. Adapt to the Changing Environment: The goal of Nature is to grow thriving populations in an ecosystem where food is scarce and predators lurk. Evolve traits like Tusked for foraging, Fast for escaping danger, or Clawed for hunting. Create a Unique Ecosystem Each Time You Play: The core game of Nature is an accessible gateway into a world of dynamic ecosystems. Each game can be tailored to the tastes of the people at the table. Add the Flight module for players who prefer to avoid conflict, the Jurassic module for a more aggressive game, or the Arctic Tundra module for a challenging survival game at the edge of the habitable world. There are 5 modules and 2 mini-modules that can be combined to create 96 different ecosystems. After the GenCon 2026 release of Climate module and 2 new mini-modules, there will be over 700 combinations to explore! How to Play: Nature is a card-driven tableau-builder played over 4 rounds. Each round is split between the Adapting Phase and the Feeding Phase. Adapting Phase: Use 5 cards as actions to do the following: - Increase Population - Increase Body Size - Play as a Trait to power-up your species - Save to be used as food during the Feeding Phase Feeding Phase: Feed as many of your population as possible. At the end of the round, players get 1 point for each population they kept alive. The winner is the player that kept the most population alive over all 4 rounds. Nature Digital: Learn to play with an interactive tutorial on the free-to-try Nature app (iOS, Android, and Steam). https://www.naturedigitalgame.com/ A Living Game System: NorthStar Studio will release the Climate module in 2026, followed by one to two new modules per year for the next decade.
